Although the Spanish and Italian languages are very similar, one has to be careful with false cognates. False cognates are words that can be confused with our language. For example, the word "abrire" means "to abhor", not to bore in Spanish. Boredom is annoiare. And "donkey" is not an ass; it means "butter". Burro is "asino".
